Where to get a code reader?

I know that for most trucks, you can get one of the cheap little code readers that will flash the lights in a certain sequence. Do they have one for a 97 F150? I have asked Autozone and they said no. I asked my mechanic, and he said he got his off of the Mac Tools truck, but for $300. Anyone have some input?

Get the OBD-II scanner at SEARS for $149.99. It will scan and give you any code that your computer puts out.
