Talking Ambient temperature guage fix

Posted a message some time ago about a wacked-out outside temperature guage (reading 15 degrees hotter). Found that there was a TSB concerning the issue for Expedition/Navigator, but not for F-150. Called the local dealer who was of no help (other than to offer to check it out, and re-calibrate, for a fee!). At any rate, I purchased a new sensor unit ($14), installed it in 10 minutes, solving the problem. Hope this helps someone else before they are gouged by the local dealer!

My outside temp guage appears to have the same problem as yours. Can you tell me how to replace the sensor? I believe it's located near the front grille (?) My temp reading has been inconsistent for a few years.
Thanks for your help,

Mooner

Were you able to get this fixed? If so, how?

Where did you get it at $14? I got mine for $38 shipped. Just put it on today it i'm back to normal (at least the temp).

Where does the sensor go? Is it just tucked in above the console, or does it run to some point outside the cab?
