Headlight switch question???
Hey gang, I'm new here.... maybee someone here can help me out... my headlights for some reason just turn off by themself... I noticed this just the other night. I was driving and all of a sudden they went off. i had to turn the switch off and on to get them to come back on. I also noticed that the interior lights in the switch sometimes didn't work. Can all this be a bad headlight switch or loose conection to the switch??? I didn't want to pull it out untill I heard back from some of you.....
Oh... It's a 99 F150xl 4x4
Thanks & Rock on.......

That what it sound like. Bad Switch
. It only does that, when driving, than you turn it off than on again. All the time or just ever now and than? It not hard to pull out. Just check to see if the plug might be loose. Good Luck

You have a '99 so it's not a new truck. If its a loose connection, it would have been noticed before now. Either your light switch is gone bad (its only a relay, not a true switch like the lights in your house) or the multi-function switch in the steering column is starting to go. If it's the multi-function, this is common in our trucks and Rangers. It is a low cost repair. Keep an eye on your high beams and signals. If your signals start to act like a bulb is burnt out (double speed flashing) than this will further the odds of being the multi-function.
NB: headlights, high-beams, signals and 4-ways all go through the multi-function switch.
