i've got a 2k2 f-150 extended cab 4.2l v6. i was just given a set of after market fog lights that I would liike to hook up. but I have no instructions. the only thing i received, the lights them selfs, no extra wiring.


I would like to hook them up so I need to have at least my driving lights on, but that I would be able to use them with my head lights, and be able to turn them off at any time.

any help? anybody?

 

Go to Pep Boys (or similar parts place) and buy a wiring kit that includes wires, a fuse, switch and relay. The fogs can operate independent from your present lights. The wiring will be like this. Hook a fused relay to the positive side of the battery then to the lights. The switch will go to a 12 volt source then to the relay to operate it. Basically, the relay is a switch that is energized by another switch to run high voltage to the lights.
