Install Automatic headlights on XLT??
Has anyone installed the automatic headlights on an XLT like comes on Lariats? Just wondered what it would take to do it. Thanks for any info.
There is a kit you can get from your Ford Dealer.
essentially, you probably replace the switch and add a photo sensor.
personally, i drive with my lights on no matter what, so I would just install the switch and leave it on auto (daytime and nighttime running lights, hoorah)

Larry,
You will have to order three parts, the light switch, photo sensor unit and the top dash panel which has the cutout for the light sensor unit. The connector is already present, so it is just a matter of installing a new light switch and plugging in the light sensor unit. Be sure to have your parts department check your VIN against the parts listings as the date of manufacture might affect the part number for the light switch which you must order.

Did this on my xlt was about 150.00 for all parts. however there was no kit that ford sells to upgrade to this option I ordered the parts separate and had to convince the parts guy to order them for me he did not think they were going to work......he was wrong
