Logged on today to ask this very question. I was looking for that button that some cars have that turn off the interior lights, but couldn't find it in the door jam. I figured it must be somewhere in the latch mechanism. I have some graphite spray.....gonna give it a try in the latch mechanism. Thanks for the useful tip!

Well, so far, this seems to be working. Door ajar light hasn't come on with the door closed since I "fixed" it. *knocking on wood*

Wink

My F150 was doing the same thing for months !
Door afar light would come on....when you exit the truck, the interior light would stay on as would the cargo light.
Aftermarket alarms shouldn't arm themselves either because they depend ont he relay from the interior dome light to be off.

Sprayed the crap out of the closing devise in the door with WD-40 about three weeks ago, and no problems since !

door latch spray

better to use white lithium spray, from what I've heard. A shot every now and then should keep the phantom at bay.
