Sylvania Silver Star's

I'll post here in Electrical, because I can't remember where I read about these bulbs before.
Anyhow, OSRAM-Sylvania has produced a new aftermarket headlight bulb called Silver Stars. They claim to be 2K brighter/whiter then PIAA's.
If I remember correctly PIAA's are rated at 3800 "Kalvins"
(a unit of frequency measure for light)
Sylvania claims to burn at 4000 Kalvins
Auto-Zone and Advanced auto parts are the only carriers SO FAR.
Except, in AZ, if you ask Auto-Zone about the new bulbs from Sylvania, you get the "Deer in the headlights" stare.
So, I called Sylvania, splained the dilema, and was given a tel number of a dist, Action Products out of Stephenson VA.
You can order them at 800-892-9657, they will set you back
$25.00 each! Thats all I know so far.

XTRUKY,

I have seen those here in Texas at Auto Zone. trying to decide if I want them or not. I now have Ge Super Blues installed. I like the difference they make from the orange tint on a halogen bulb to the bright white. I will let you know if I get them and what they are like.

I seen those at work (Advance), but where I live not to many people appreciate the value of a good high quality part and I forgot all about posting them on here. I plan to buy a complete set (2 headlghts, 2 fogs) after x-mas. If no one has them by then I will post results. I want/will do a little test comparsion to the Piaa's in my headlights now. The Piaa's were a little brighter than the Sylvania Cool Blues (actually a bright white bulb) and a lot brighter than OE, if these are even better I can't wait to get them. I cringe at the thought of 100 bucks on bulbs but I've already invested that much to get where I'm at now, so what the hey.
