Post Alternator

Can I get some good recommendations on high amperage alternators? Preferably ones that aren't very expensive? I have 7 KC Daylighers, a MSD Ignition, and Electric Fan. They're not all hooked up right now but they will be soon and I think I'll need some more power. Especially when I go offroading at night and get some of those KCs on. Thanks

I don't think the MSD ignition draws very much. What are the current draws for the lights and electric fan?

You didn't say what year model you have, but the 2001's all come with 130 amp alternators. So, just as a SWAG, let's say each light is 55 watts... 5 amps... there is 35 amps... add 50 for the fan and you got 85.

I don't know but if you find one let me know, I'm looking for an aftermarket higher output alternator as well. i've got the 130 in my truck right now but would like a 200. I think you can probably tell why.

I read where they're marinizing the Triton engines so it won't be too long before you'll be finding high capacity alternators for these engines, so long as they still mount them in the same place. It's not unusual to see 200+ amp alternators on marine engines.
