Question Combo Switch Replacement

The turn signals have started operating intermittently on my 97 F150. It's obviously due to a bad combo switch because wiggling the turn signal lever causes the symptoms to change.

Does anyone have experience replacing the combo switch? Is it necessary to pull the steering wheel to replace the switch?

Thanks for any info.
Tom

Hi Radio

On older models you would have to pull the steering wheel to get to the cam lever for turn signals...

Havent done newer model....but appears you dont have to pull wheel.....It is multi-function switch.

disconnect battery.....remove ign. lock...steering column covers...

that should get you to switch...remove retaining screws...disconnect the elect. connectors, then detach the switch from the column..

However...did read that in Haynes manual You should get one cause there are some elect. tests listed to do on that switch.

Good luck... OT
