Question Made a Mistake...Help?

I hope someone can/will help me fix a stupid mistake. I saw the articles about adding daytime running lights to my 2001 F-150. I checked with my insurance company and, sure enough, they give a discount for them. I ordered the parts thinking the discount would pay for them over a couple of months. It seems, however, that to install them as easily as described I needed to have the factory fog lights, which I do not. Now I don't know how to install the resistor at the front left headlight as shown in the articles as there is no plug for it. If anyone has a suggestion, other than check it more thoroughly next time, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Thanks, Old Timer. I did, however, contact FordPartsOnline and they are going to swap the parts I have for a kit that adds dyatime running lights AND autolamps. Gary was extremely helpful.

Now, thanks to you, I have another web site to check out. I'm not sure if that is good or bad.

Thanks,
Shawn

You might want to have your dealer install the Ford accessory DRL kit. It is more complicated than the OEM parts installation. Numerous wires have to be cut, spliced, etc. Even though you don't have the factory foglamps, the connector for the resistor should be there.
