battery saver problems

I have a 2002 F-150 that I just installed an alarm on. The alarm has a feature in which the siren will go off if the power to the alarm is cut. I have the alarm wired to the dome light wire from the door so that if the doors are opened the alarm goes off. Now the truck thinks that the dome light is left on or something and when the battery saver kicks in the alarm goes off because the power to the alarm is cut off with the battery saver. Is their a way to override the battery saver or a better way to wire the alarm to the doors? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
