Question Turn Signal problem????

My Right turn signal intermitently sort of quits. It will "Click" real fast, and the light doesn't come on, some times it works normal sometimes it doesn't. Bulbs are replaced, was thinking maybe flasher?

Any Idea's?

Thanks!

Mine too! Started a couple of weeks ago with the left. Now the right is doing it to.

Now I noticed that my headlights don't always come on. The DRL's stay on. If I flash my brights, the normal headlights will come on. I am thinking that there is something more than the flasher involved here (unless they are two unrelated problems)

Mine is doing the same thing with the right turn signal. I took it in to the Ford dealer and they said it's the "multi-function switch" in the steering column at the end of the turn signal stalk. They quoted $80 part and $80 labor. They said it's a pain to do yourself so I'm going to check around to get it done for less if I can. I sprayed some contact cleaner in on the switch and that helped for a few days. If anyone finds a cheap source for the part please post.

TURN SIGNALS AND HEADLIGHTS............

A common problem for both the F-150 and Ranger is the "multifunction switch" located on the turn signal column stalk.
I see lots of these problems on fordranger.com , looks like the F-150 did not escape the curse. You will have intermittents for the headlights, turn signals, sometimes the wipers will come on by themselves. The new switch should be revised to take care of the problem.

Unhappy

My truck is currently in the shop for the same problem. The right rear turn signal did not work and the brake light was also out. I replaced the bulb and my flasher relay with no success. I also went as far as checking the continuity on the rear end wiring harness. Should have truck back later today and I will let you know what was wrong.

Question Turn Signal Problems

Yeah, I got the problem myself with the right turn signal. I found that when I push down on the signal to turn right and it clicks very fast with the lamp on the dash not lighting up, I just push down harder on the signal and everything seems to work. It is as if the turn signal level is not making a good contact. Now I know this is not the final solution but I was wondering if changing the multi-function switch actually fixes the problem. Do we have anymore quotes on the price to fix this thing?

Thanks..

I got tired of it and got it fixed a couple of weeks ago. The left turn signal also started to screw up. I took it to a local Ford dealer; the part was $82 and with .8 hr. labor it was $153 total.
I got the old part back and it's the entire turn signal stalk and fairly large switch assembly connected to it that is housed in the steering column. At first I thought the part cost was a bit high but once I saw the part it made some sense.
