Poor Startup

2009 5.4 continues to crank after key released. Poor startup began at same time.

That's normal, it will crank till it starts or times out.

I guess it normally popped right off? So, a longer crank, and when it starts it's unstable idle, and will die if I put it in gear too soon. 124k it's never done that. (Or anything but run perfect, til now).

How many miles on the spark plugs? You may need to clean the throttle body.

Hope it's not the fuel filter, it's inside the tank.

GLC, (sigh), I knew you were going to say that! The spark plugs are original at 124k miles. I'm scared to death to touch them.

2009 has the redesigned heads, changing spark plugs is no big deal. They won't stick and break.
