Unhappy Check engine light code #0455

75,000 miles, and now check engine light comes on. Code says #0455, gross leak in emissions system. Any ideas before I get raked over the coals by the dealer? Thanks for any input.

I think that has something to do with too many mods... ie Chromed L wheels, cowl hood, powder coated tow hooks... stuff like that

At least the cows can score! HOW ABOUT THEM BEARS! Da Bears! Actually, I did replace my gas cap with a locking one. I switched back to the factory one, but the light is still on. Someone told me I have to clear my computer to see if that works. Hey Mister, I found a place to get grill emblems with black or white instead of blue. Nah, that would weigh your truck down too much. A speed bump would kill 'ya on that flat land!!! Let me know.

LOL, Flatlander huh? Well, I think I need to get another job. My wheels and tires just keep getting pushed back. I ended up getting a new brushguard... under warranty because the finish on the other one sucked! Of course I then had to add another set of K.C.s (4 total now). Remember I was going to get a billet grill like yours? Well, I ended up getting the Street Scenes Speed Grill. Got it for $40 from a fellow F-150 onliner. Was $140 from J.C. Whitney. I seriously need to get some pictures scanned! Then, last week I accidentally bought a $1,200 in dash DVD/7" LCD from Pioneer. So, like I said, looks like it will be spring when I finally get my wheels and tires. I have been watching e-bay for a good deal.

I knew you would forget to post that question. I ordered them today, and when I get them in, I'll let you know the look and quality. I ordered one for the tailgate and a 7" one for the grill. There was a set of chrome L wheels on ebay yesterday or the day before for $800. Guess that stereo could have waited.

Well, with the wonderful winters we have down here and the 10 pounds of salt per square foot that they spread, I am sure I won't be missing the wheels all that much till spring. Actually, it would have killed me to look at them in my basement all winter! Let me know about the emblems. I'm am interested in a white one for the grill. Is the one on the tailgate just double side taped on?

All you have to do is add Double sided tape (3M). Why not for the rear? 10# of salt blows away easy on flat ground. !!!

Just to let you'all know, it was the after market locking gas cap. Not pressurized. Disconected the neg. wire on batt., waited 5 minutes to clear computer memory, then reconnect, and no C.E.L. Whew!!!

Maybe I'll buy some new toys for my F with the money I saved. Oops, that's right, I already ordered something. Hate it when that happens.
