I attempted (lamely I might add) to install my own amp in SuperCrew. When I tried to reconnect the positive battery terminal, the screw became stripped. It wouldn't loosen or tighten, only turn in the post.

I cut it in half with some bolt cutters and to make an already long story short, I need to replace the entire positive (+) battery terminal connector.

I have no idea what the dealer might charge to replace it, he might even do it for free (ha!), but I'd rather do it myself since it's my mess. Any idea wear I can get a factory replacement connector for the positive battery post?

I'm assuming yours is like the rest of the F150's and has the metal band type clamp. If so you can get those at any parts store for under 3 dollars apiece. Good luck.

You should be able to connect your positive lead for the amp on an
accessory post that is powered directly from the battery. It
s most likely in the fuse box area under the hood.

 

Thanks for the info. At this point, I'm ready to let some else install the amp. I did find the post connector at my local parts store for about $3.
