2005 fx 4x4 electrical short

Hello,
I am new here so i apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I am hoping someone can pinpoint this for me. This is how the problem started i was wiring up a new trailer plug and i touched a hot tailight wire to a ground, No biggie popped a fuse. Not with my luck no bad fuse now it will drain my battery in minutes, No reverse lights , no tail lights, no brake lights. The security box behind the rear seat makes an weird noise, the gauges on the panel quiver, and can hear the throttle body clicking. If i un hook the negative wire from the battery and do a draw test it shows its drawing 11 volts, I tried unhooking the main wire from battery to fuse panel. still a 11 volt draw. If i unhook the Alt. wire at the battery. 11 volt draw If i unhook the main wire and alt. wire both at same time then there is no draw of course. something got shorted and i havent a clue where to begin on this, Not sure why a fuse didnt pop like it was intended to do.

First thing I'd do is check your relays. Especially the one for the trailer connections.

Assuming you were wiring it up into the existing trailer wiring connector?

I checked all the relays and the fuses.Installed a new fuse box, down at the kick panel. Tried unplugging lights t the "Y" wiring in the back, nothing changed at all. I do appreciate your feedback.

With a wiring diagram can you chase back to see what got shorted when you touched that wire to ground? A clamp on amp meter may help you chase down battery drawdown.

That is a option i havent thought of, Thanks for the suggestion.I will try that. should have known better then thinking a 30 cent fuse would protect everything
