Deactivating Autolock Feature

I have a new '01 F150 with the autolock feature, but I cannot turn it off. I have tried following the instructions on page 95 of owners guide. Do you see any mistake in these instructions:

1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key form ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice if activated.
7. Turn ignition to OFF. Horn will chirp to confirm procedure is complete.

Well, I can not get horn to chirp after step 5.

Which power door unlock/lock control are you using? You have to use the power lock switch on the door itself, not the one on the remote transmitter/keyfob.

Thanks, buschman, that must be my mistake! I have been trying to use keyfob.
