Tach signal

I own a 1999 F150 XLT 5.4 4wd. Im trying to locate which wire on the PCM to tap off of. (tach signal). Is there a place in the manual that Im missing? Cant seem to find the correct wire. Can anyone help? If anyone has a photo that would be super. Thanks

There isn't a wire with a tach signal on your truck.

RPM data is sent from the PCM to the cluster as computer data over the multiplex communications network. The cluster, in turn, decodes that data and drives the tach (if equipped).

the Tach Signal for Remote Start is not on the PCM.

The 1999 MY specific info I have is not from Ford direct, so use judgement on trusting it.

The Ford supplied install documents, I cannot find back to 1999.
2002 is COPS, so the color code is different, but similar concept to the non Ford one above.

All this is pending what you are trying to do with this tach signal.
- This will not work if you are installing an aftermarket Tach in your truck.
