Today my fuel gauge dropped from 1/4 tank to empty and NO low fuel light. Tapped the display and it momentarily showed correctly. It continued to operate erratically until I filled it up. For the next 60 miles it help steady on full.
In the past I had the OD going off and tapping display brought it back. I had read that there was a poor solder joint on the cluster board connector, which re-soldering fixed. As with the overhead compass/temp display.
Could this be the same with the gauge? The display unit isn't the easiest to remove.
