When I put my 06 in reverse it almost immediately shuts off the backup system. I've replaced the sensors one at a time which didn't fix it. Is there any other common places to check?

 

There are 2 connectors that the harness runs through.

the other thing is to check the connectors for the sensors. If they are corroded, the PAM will not see the sensor and turn off ( to avoid false readings ).

The only other item is the PAM ( parking Aid Module ) itself.
- Outside chance that the Dark green w/ violet stripe wire is shorted to ground, making the PAM think the switch is depressed.

Best to start by checking the wiring for high resistance or an open from the PAM to the sensor connector.

 

Would the diagram above be the same for a 2010 F-150?

 

Those are for a 2006, which should cover 2004 - 2008.
- There are changes in those years also.

2009 EVTM, which should be the same as the 2010.




2010 might have some small changes like connectors.
- 2011 was the next major change to electrical.
