97 Ford F150 Alarm Issue

I have a 97 F150. My alarm started going off this morning. I do not have a key fob as it was bought used. The system locked the doors. Disconnected the battery and reconnected but it won't start. Alarm keeps going off. My key is having issues as I have read others stating to disarm it I would put the key in and lock and unlock the door. Doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? I need to have a truck that starts in order to take it to a dealership. Thanks!

I don't know what good a dealership would do you, because it's most likely an aftermarket alarm. You may want to contact a car stereo shop, they usually do alarms.

The 97 did not have a chipped key, 99 was the first year of that.

do you know if it is the factory alarm or an aftermarket ?

97/98 had an alarm ( pre PATS ) that had an ignition tamper circuit along with a starter interrupt relay in the RPO relay block. There are also door anti theft switches.

I do not see a horn circuit in the 97/98 RAP ( Remote Antitheft Personality ) Module. Makes me think aftermarket, but that is supposition at this point.

Take a look under the dash, up behind the cab fuse panel.

Do you see something like this :

Up here ( notice e brake pedal for ref )

Or is there something aftermarket up there ?
- code Alarm, clifford, etc
