Interior light situation
Interior light situation
Ok guys, I need expert help. I recently acquired a 97 F150 base model. This truck doesn't have much, manual locks, and windows. It's a Canadian made truck, no factory a/c either. I can't get the interior lights or cargo lights to work. I replaced all the bulbs and the interior light relay. Is there anything I'm missing? I don't think it's the GEM because from what I have read I haven't had any other issues with windshield wipers turn signals, etc. I get the door chime when the door is open do I don't think it's the door switch. Could the panel the bulb slips into be mounted wrong? I took the mounting plate off to redo the headliner and when I put it back, the only way it would go, one screw connector is not used. Sorry for the lengthy post, but this is driving me nuts! Thanks for y'all's help.
Did you check the fuses? Download the owner's manual and look them up.

After checking the correct fuses, use a voltmeter to check for voltage on both sides of fuse on the fuse holder. If you don't have power on both ends then the you have a bad fuse or a bad connection (more common than you would think! Due to shoddy materials). If you don't have power to fuse holder then that tells you that your problem is back toward the battery, other wise it's towards that lights.
No, the switch on the dash won't turn them on or opening the door either.
