Runs rough and electrical issues

My 200 F-150 started running extremely rough and eventually dies. Several attempts will get it to start but miss will continue and it will die again. Indicator lights will come on from check engine, theft, oil pump etc.
Odometer comes on and off at will and understand that is a common trait of this model of 5.4 Triton.
When I bought this truck I neglected to find wad of wiring connections behind extended cab seat where someone had a sound system installed in the truck. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Has 170,000 miles on it.

Did this vehicle have a navigation system? If so it has a 130 amp altenator and you said someone had installed a sound system which would require more. if they put a 110 amp altenator the vehicle will stop all ,ightz go out the coil over sparks plugs dont work and the catalytic converters and o2sensors keep having issues. Replace the altenator and you should be good. I have a 2005 Ford Expedition and had similar issues till my car died and a Ford mechanic said I only have a 110 amp I replaced it and haven't had an issue since.

I would hope that it's been fixed by now, that post was made a year and a half ago and the original poster has never been back.
