Does anyone know how to disable the door open chime that sounds when the key is left in the ignition?

 

There is a brown wiring harness near the steering column underneath the dash. Unplug it, snap out the red locking spacer, locate the black wire with the pink tracer and pull it out while depressing the clip retainer. Tape the wire back so no metal is exposed and put it back together.

The chime will be disabled when the door is open with the key in the ignition. This will not affect the chime while the switch is in the accessory mode.

Thanks for the response. I disconnected the wire as per your directions. Simple to do and now the annoying chime is gone. Any ideas how to disable the chime when the key is in the accesssory position with the door open??

 

I picked up the info from a sister site. If I figure out how to disable it with the key in the ACC position, I'll let you know.
