Lightbulb 2006 FX4 Battery Drain

Hello, I have an issue going on with my truck. A few months ago I had to get a new battery because the old one was original for the truck. After about a month the battery was dead one morning. I get the truck going with use of a jump box but the next morning it would be dead again. I checked the battery and it was good. I replaced that battery and everything was good again for about a month and the issue started again. I found something on here saying that fuse number 21 could be a culprit. I pulled the fuse at night and it worked. Now the issue is I don't know what is causing the issue. Fuse 21 controls the cluster, radio, and dome lights. When I do plug this fuse back in there is a clicking behind the cluster and the speedo needle shakes. Does anyone have any idea on heat could be causing this. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you

I HATE electrical gremlins!!

Does your cluster do weird things while driving? Do any of your interior lights come on after shutting the truck off? I ask because I had a similar issue last year with my '05 Sport Trac. I know it's a totally different vehicle, but similar electrical issues can happen to any vehicle. Anyways, my cluster wouldn't work right and when I shut it off the interior lights would turn on and off all night long. One morning the battery was dead, that was the final straw for me, so I broke down and took it to a ford dealer. Cluster tested bad and needed replaced, once replaced with a new cluster all issues were gone.

Also, my Dad recently had an issue with his radio turning on and off in his F-250 even when the truck was off, other weird things happened too but can't remember. His issue was some wiring pigtail behind the dash went bad, he got lucky and a lot cheaper fix than mine was.

That's all I can say just from my own experiences.

I am having problems with my 2006 Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew 5.4L V8. The problem I am having appears to be an electrical one. It started with my power doors and windows operating intermittently. Sometimes they would work, other times I would have to open the door just right in order for them to work. Then a couple of weeks ago I went to start it and it wouldn't start. When I turned the key nothing would happen. The power inside the truck would not go off. The gauges were still operating and the radio was on even though the key was off and the door was open. Yesterday this happened and I finally got it to start, but when I turned off the key and removed it, then engine was still running then finally died, but all power inside the cab was still on. Can anyone help me with this issue. I tried replacing the ignition switch, but that didn't work either. It kept doing the same thing.

Todd
