AC compressor gone crazy
'97 4.2L with AC
I noticed my AC compressor clutch was engaged even though the AC was off. I had just finished changing the water pump gasket and cleaning the engine. I thought it might be moister so I sprayed electical-moisture displacing stuff (can't remember the name) on everything I could think of. Had cool air in the cab with heat on high. No luck. Waited awhile thinkinking something would dry out, no luck. I usually keep the fan on low defrost. Switched to panel and the compressor shut off. Played around and found that in some positions the compressor is on, in some its off. I'm thinking its the control switch, on the dash. Anyone had this problem or have any ideas. Thanks.
