Well, funny thing is the guy who attempted to clone the key was the owner and he purchased the equipment himself, but that doesn't mean that he is familiar with it I suppose.

I did finally get the key programmed at a local locksmith in town. He used a laptop and some software through the OBD port so I assume this is a programmed key and not a clone, but at this point I don't really care so long as I have two working keys. He only charged $40 bucks so I was very happy with the price.
