Brake light
Time to test the switch to be sure.
My '06 it had a yellow c-clip retainer on it ( 05 might be the same, I have not seen one ).
Light green w/ red stripe wire is from fuse # 2 to Light green wire.
Use a meter to check for + VDC on each side, both pedal down and up.
- Red meter lead to a known good ground.
When testing the light green wire, as you press down, check the travel to see when + VDC shows up.
Another question is it just the Stop / turn lights that are delayed or is the CHMSL ( aka 3rd brake light ) also delayed ?
- If so I would say switch, but best to test it.

Same place, top of the brake pedal.
Wire colors are the same.
Light green w/ Red stripe wire ( from Fuse #13 to ) to light green wire.
This is also the shift interlock, so if there is an issue with the brake lights not coming on until all the way down, same thing for shifting out of park should be happening.
