trailer light plug

How do you remove the clips for the trailer plug assembly on a 2011 f150. Trailer lights don't work and we think it may be the plug on the truck.

check for power on the plug first before you take it apart. If you don't have a voltmeter, you can buy these test lights for cheap at any auto parts store or even Walmart.
