2004 f150 won't start - turn key and nothing happens

I have a 2004 F150. For the past few months when I turn the key to start the truck, nothing happens. It's not the battery. When this happens, I have found that I can turn the steering wheel a little; move the gear shifter; etc and it will then just start as normal. Seems to be some type of connection issue in the ignition. Any ideas?

most of the time when that happens its the gear shift,, not being in the right position.

When it happens you get no lights,, basicly as you put it nothing. Next time you have

problem move gear shift into neutral and start truck. or just move gear shift a little.

Moving the gear shift works sometimes. It never starts from Neutral. Sometimes I have to move the steering wheel; move the gear shift and just keeping trying until it finally starts. Any suggestion on how to fix from occurring?

Could be starter. Just replaced mine on Monday. When it broke engine would not turn over. Just a click from engine each time I turned the key
