Battery Terminal mod?

Anyone know if this terminal splitter is stock on a 2012 F-150 STX or was it installed as part of a mod that was done to it? I am looking to add an under the hood light. Plan to just modify a 12volt work light so I get the light and freedom to move it around. Plan to keep it tucked under the hood and always connected with an inline switch. Should I connect direct to one of these battery terminals, to the main post of the fuse block under the hood, or add a "add-a-fuse" to that fuse block

You can connect directly to any of those poles but I would put the inline fuse and the switch right where you come off of the pole. You might consider a push on, push off switch, a little less chance of it being accidently turned on. Don't you have an unused pole on the right in the picture?

Great idea about the fuse. Thought of it but did not mention so TKS! I then assume the ground comes from the chassis, not the battery Neg terminal??

No, go directly to the battery ground (neg.) post connection.

OK...Thanks. Great with 110 but this 12volt is baffling. I will post a pic when it is done.

Added a Peak handheld light with a 10ft cord and a built in switch. Also put in that inline 10 amp fuse. Not so bummed that Ford cheaped out with no under hood light. This is so much better and brighter!! Tks code58.
