Hi
I have a 1998 F150 with a 4.6 King cab
I think my trucks lost its mind
My turn signal lights stay on (both) when i turn my headlights on and my turn signals wont work.
I turn my headlights off my turn signals work again but my defroster wont come one just makea a buzzing sound.. when i try to turn the blower on for any heat at all it makes a buzzin sound and my dash lights all light up again.
I hit the brakes the same thing happens.. my both turn signal lights and high beam light in the dash come on and then and go out when i let off the pedal.
needless to say i need so me help if anyone is familiar with kind of all around crazyness.
OH the dome light does it also comes on and goes out when i turn my headlights on or off or try the turn signal.
Been a real good truck to me sll these years with 165k runs just fine.
I can't afford to pay 70 dollars an hour for diagnostics so I have to figure this out myself.

Few things come to mind :
1. What condition is the battery in /
- Does it hold a charge, it is at least 12.6 VDC, etc.
2. Have you had a fair amount of rain as of late ?
- could be the windshield leaking on the GEM, check the carpet up on the firewall and under the driver's kick panel for signs of water damage.
3. Do you have an issue with your battery cables ?
- could be either the + or neg side. Also check the motor to frame and the frame to the cab connections.
Some of the symptoms sound like a missing / weak ground. The ground strap under the cab and to the engine could be corroded and damaged after all these years.

Battery seemed to be fine but i'll dbl check it and the cables.
Yes we sure have started to have rain alot last cpl months I havent noticed any dampness could it be behind the dash or could it have gotten on the fuse box? and ill look for that ground.
with the issue being so unpredictable i was also concerned can the air bags be set off by a problem like this? I am too old for any suprises like that .. might find me dead with my feet stickin out the door lol
any idea what general location on the motor ground? or should i be able to see it fairly easily?
