93 f-150 - 305 v8 -New battery but will not start

Electrical Question: I put the key in the ignition switch - but the starter will not turn over, clicks one time and the electrical system just goes out –No head lights, no power windows nothing!
Then I wait & later when I get in the truck the dome light comes on like normal. But when I try to turn on the head lights every thing goes dead [black] !
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Have you put a load test on the battery? It might be the battery or connections.

x2 also check for possible parasitic drain. Check starter and make sure all wires are correctly hooked up.

I cleaned the battery connections then put a little grease on them. Reconnected the leads to the battery. Now everything seems to work now.

Thanks

Ya know that's a 302 right? A 305 is "cough,cough" a Chevy engine.
