HELP- URGENT Green wire

Its like ghosts are controlling my truck. I am in the midst of tracking everything down. Long story.

Just got it back from the mech who couldn't fix any of the problems. Pop the hood to take a look for myself and there is a small light green (or green depending on who looks at it) wire laying across my battery. looks like it goes to a harness clip behind the battery.

I have searched but couldn't find diagrams, etc online.

Can someone tell me what this wire is for?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Even guesses welcome.

my current problems are airbag light code 45. sometime s flashes on some trips not on others. and stereo comes on by itself and goes to cd- shop replaced it and new stereo does same thing. (both were out of an explorer- how I got the truck 7 years ago).

Brake lights and everything else went away. Just had rad support replaced so I know its related to that. Going to check the grounds on the rad support in the morning.

Please help.

Hey.

Not much to go on ...

Any idea how the wire got there? Can you trace to the end points?

Checking grounds is a good idea.

Link to diagrams for yer MY ('98): https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...7-1998+my.html .... Courtesy of sscully

Good luck.

Thank you very much. Those should definitely help me in my travels. And in the future too.

I don't know why the airbag light and radio acts like that, intermittently.

Going to check the grounds behind the headlights soon. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.
