intermittent door buzzer.

ok so i have a 1997 4x4 with the lariat package, and the dinger intermittently works, with the keys in the ignition when i open the door. is there a sensor in the door that would need replaced, or would i need to just spray the **** out of the latch? Ive read where it doesn't shut off, but this is the opposite. the dome light turns on, so it leads me to the dash, or a wire to the dash. It works if i jiggle the door a bit, or shut and re-open it, so im confused. I am one of those people who likes their stuff properly working, annoying or not. any input or solutions would be helpful.

Do you have the factory security system / Keyless remote ?

Have you pulled the driver's side kick panel to see if the floor is wet ?

Without the factory security system / remote keyless entry, the door ajar indicators go direct to the GEM.

If moving the open door makes it work again, it could be a damaged wire in the rubber boot from the door to the A-pillar, but this is a SWAG without the answers to the questions above.

no keyless entry, dry as a whistle, as i said the dome light still kicks on, and the door ajar in the dash lights up, so it may be a wire as you indicated.
