Keyless Entry Remotes Not Working...Sometimes

So I washed my truck yesterday, immediately afterwards neither of my remotes would unlock the truck. This is a problem as my alarm is wired into the keyless entry system and I could not disarm it. I did the cycle 8 times to reprogram and it worked for about 5 minutes then neither of them would work again. I changed both batteries, reprogrammed, it worked for about a day then wouldn't work again. Its completely random though, sometimes it works, an hour later it doesn't anymore. I'm thinking the receiver is having issues, anyone know how I could address this without going to the dealership?

Can you post some info on your truck or complete your profile ?

Is the RKE system factory, Ford aftermarket or other aftermarket market mfgr ?

Is the RKE part of the alarm, or is the alarm additional ( i.e. Ford Factory RKE w/ brand x alarm ) ?

Manufacture of the alarm ?

The alarm is Ford Aftermarket, I guess, I bought it at the dealership, its the Cobra alarm. The alarm itself is working perfectly its the factory keyless entry that is having issues.

Ford aftermarket would be the one with the Ford logo on it ( Code Alarm ).

I am not familiar with the Cobra VSS, so I do not know where to start.

The alarm might not be working correctly, if the RKE is having issues. They are interconnected by what you posted, so the alarm could be the source of the issue.

Have you tried disabling the alarm, and unplugging it to see if the RKE issue stays ?

my keyless remote sometimes works - SOLUTION

Good Morning
Frustrating when Keyless Remote sometimes fail
..
SOLUTION, fix:
Transmission & Received wireless reliability, depends on the outside ANTENNA CONNECTION.
Remove Two screws, often hold the outside antenna, remove the screws
Lift out the Antenna from its connector
APPLY "Dielectric grease" (the same as small packets of, Spark-plug Dielectric grease OR Light bulb connection grease, purchased at any auto parts)
Application on the connector terminals. This will make positive connection and protect the electrical integrity of the terminals.
YOU NOW SHOULD HAVE CONTINUOUS CONNECTION & RELIABILITY
..
