odbII port not working

I hve a 08 lariat , when i tried plugging two different odbII bluetooth adapters for some reason now neither can communicate with the ECU. It was working fine and used with torqu app on moto droid phone, now it wont communicate to the ecu. The other day i plugged the adpater in and it my all the needles on the gages go crazy and all the dummy lights light up, when just key turned to acc and then truck running. Any ideas on what this might be , truck is over 60,000k so out of warrenty.

Check the cigar lighter. It it does not work, it's the fuse as they are on the same circuit.

Works on what MY other vehicles ??

You said it is a OBDII cable, does that mean it is OBDII software or CAN / OBDII software ?

Trying to follow what you were getting at with the cluster, is this still going on, or only happened when you plugged the cable in ?

Not too sure what you have going on, if you plugged into the DTC port and the cluster started doing strange things, might not want to use that setup, that should not happen ( don't know how a read would do something like that, but that is assuming it only did a read .)

Ill check the fuse, but it gets power to it as the bluetooth odbII pairs with my phone and torque app but cant read from the ecu and my friends bluetooth has lights on it that light up when first plugged in, just both cant read from ECU. But if i use both mine and his on any other vehicle it works fine.

I tried it again and the cluster and gages didnt go crazy just that one time.
