Angry blower motor trouble any help?

02 supercrew 5.4.
today driving down the road had heat on hi and it worked just fine then all o sudden it just quit working. kept driving and it started working again just as normal (low hi and med worked great.) pulled in my driveway and it quit again would not work on any setting. checked all fuses and they were fine. changing thru the controls i hear everything working i.e. actuator door and relays click and ac comp kicks on. pulled the blower motor resistor out and it was all rusted and litteraly fell apart in my hand. i ran to auto zone and got a resistor and installed it in the parking lot and all was great. everything worked fine all the way home. left the house again and started it up and turned the heat up and nothing not working at all. checked all fuses and connections and everything is good. just not blowing?????
please help its 12deg in ohio and i drive 30min to work at 330am (stop laughing it aint funny hehe)

For how bad the resistor sounds, did you replace the pigtail as well ?

same problem

bought 2001 fx4 just before christmas...everything worked then ac and heat and blower all stopped...checked resistor and it was good...dug around and finally located the blower relay next to steering column and tried controls and didn't hear relay try to energize....checked all the fuses and they were good...so pulled fuses one by one and found #24 to be a little tarnished..cleaned it and reinstalled the fuse and now everything works fine...ac heat and blower...good luck ...hope this helps
