Phantom fuse under hood?
Phantom fuse under hood?
I was checking the fuses the other day on my 2001 SuperCrew 4x4 and in the power box under the hood, and I noticed the fuse in spot 8 was blown. When I went to replace it, I noticed there were no metal contacts in the fuse slot, so it just sat in the slot loose, like that location wasn't used. The user manual claims it's for power locks I believe. I brought it into the shop and he pulled the power box apart and there were no wires going to fuse location 8. ???? If thise spot isn't used, why was there a blown fuse in there (unless someone stuck a blown one there at the factory), and why does it have a use according to the manual. The power locks and everything else seem to be in fine working order. Do any of you guys have a fuse in slot 8 under the hood? Thanks.
