Means there is a code waiting to be retrieved.
The way to turn it off is to get the code, search here for it, fix it and after 2 drive cycles ( if repaired ) the PCM will turn the CEL off.
- else you can use the code scanner to turn it off, but unless repaired it will come back on within 2 drive cycles.
autozone will generally scan the code for free ( to get the parts sale ).
Have them scan it, and get the code number ( not what the guy at auotzone thinks is wrong, as it always seems to default to O2 sensors with those guys ).
The code will be a letter and 4 numbers, i.e. P0174 ( that is zero-one-seven-four not the letter O ).
