Brake Switch issue?

I have a 2004 F150. My brake lights work but I need to press on pedal hard. Much harder then needed to stop. Also I have adjustable pedals. Depending on position of pedals the brake lights work better or worse. Is the switch going or could it be loose/dirty ? Thanks.

I'd check the wiring harness to the brake lamp switch.

Check and see if the harness is holding up the switch, so when you move the power pedals, the switch is being rotated. This is just a SWAG.

If it was the switch, I would expect it to be regardless of the position.

Thanks guys. After checking harness and wires including remote starter safety wire. I pulled the switch and opened it. Sure enough one post was worn and rainbow colored. I cleaned it and bent it a bit to make easier contact. Works fine until I get a new switch. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
