No Cruise control

Recently installed a Metra ASWC in my 2006 F150 with a Sony XAV-72BT HU. During the install I ran my battery dead so I charged the battery. After some minor wiring issues with the steering wheel control unit I got it working. When I buttoned the whole thing up I noticed I have no cruise control. No light, nothing. Fuses 5, 15, 16 aren't blown. I tried the diagnostic but nothing happens. The light doesn't come on at all. Any suggestions??? The cruise control seems to be the only problem. Everything else works right.

Not too sure where you got the fuse list.

The fuses associated with a 04-08 My Speed Control are 2, 14 and 102 and the Aux fuse / relay panel in the engine compartment fuse #3 ( illumination ).

What were the "minor wiring issues with the steering wheel control unit" that you had happen ?
- This points to the 1st place to look to in my mind, everything worked correctly prior to messing with the wiring with the steering wheel control wiring.

Do your brake lamps work ?
- Test them and make sure at least the CHMSL works.
- Did you swap Stop / Turn / Tail lamps to LEDs ?

Does the parking brake indicator work correctly ?

Did you do any work around the top of the brake pedal ?
- The speed control deactivation switch is at the top, this is not the shift interlock / brake pedal position switch lower on the side of the pedal.

What diagnostics are you trying to do ?

I read a bunch of posts yesterday and those fuse numbers came up alot. I will check 2, 14, 102 tomorrow. Is the aux fuse/relay panel right next to the battery or on the other side of the engine compartment?
By minor wiring issue I mean that I initially hooked the ASWC to the wrong harness wire. After I made the right connection the ASWC worked but then I buttoned everything up and patted myself on the back for a job well done. After enjoying my new stereo for a few hours I decided to make sure everything worked. That's when I realized the CC wasn't working.
All three brake lights work and I have no led lights in my truck.
I will try the parking brake tomorrow also.
I was fumbling around the brake pedal when I ran the wire for the microphone. I will take a look to see if there's anything out of place.
I read about a built in diagnostic test where you hold down the "off" button on the CC then turn the ignition key on (making sure not to start the vehicle).

As for the diagnostic, you might want to check the applicability of it relative to your particular vehicle.

Bit more detail on "hooked the ASWC to the wrong harness wire".

Is this a cut and splice ?

What wire did you hook it up to ?

As posted by projectSHO89, the self test you are trying is not for your MY truck. That self test is for the MYs that have a servo motor attached to a throttle cable.

Let me clarify. The Metra ASWC is fairly simple to install in our truck. While the wiring harness has several wires only three are used for the F150. The three wires I used were red (12 volt switched), black (ground), and white/green (connects to steering wheel control wire in the wiring harness). I initially connected the white/green wire to the wrong harness wire. There weren't sparks flying or anything like that. As far as cutting and splicing goes I haven't cut a single wire in the factory wiring harness. I'm actually cutting into the adaptor harness that was purchased with my stereo. Every connection is soldered, shrink wrapped, and the entire harness is wrapped in electrical tape.
I appreciate your help Today I will check the fuses you mentioned as well as the brake mechanism under the dash.

Cruise control and all other steering wheel controls work. Checked all fuses, disconnected battery, checked for anything out of place near the brake pedal. Not sure why but I won't argue.
Next project is a 5-channel amp. Gonna pull the back seat and take some measurement tomorrow.

Thanks for your help,
