How do you remove the field coil from the AC compressor on a 1996 F150, 5.0L, 3.02 V8, 4x4, standard transmission?

Any help is appreciated!

 

Put the compressor on the workbench and use the prescribed coil puller.

 

First remove the belt (& fan and shroud if necessary). In this order, remove the nut, clutch, shim washers, snap ring, pulley, snap ring, coil.



But you're not likely to find JUST a replacement coil or even a clutch set - most remanufacturers now only supply a complete compressor/clutch assembly.
