Issues wiring Python 513 to 97 F150 XLT
Issues wiring Python 513 to 97 F150 XLT
I bought a Python model 513 car alarm/remote start and Today I installed it on my F150 97 XLT (which came from factory with no alarm or keyless entry) and everything seemed fine, alarm worked great and so did the remote start and when I was about to put everything back together I noticed that the power locks on my truck won't lock or unlock when using the remote. They work fine with the switches on both doors so I started looking online and found this info but I don't know how should I wire it.
On python's manual
Door lock harness
1 Light blue (-) unlock (+) lock output
2 EMPTY
3 Green (-) lock (+) unlock output
On the F150 97 wiring guide
Door Lock Pink/Yellow (High Driver's Dash Negative Trigger w/Keyless Entry)
Door Unlock Pink/Light Green (Reverse Polarity w/o Keyless Entry)
On 451m Micro Doorlock Relay Module
3 Plug interface with DEI
Green (-) Lock Trigger
RED (+) 12V
Blue (-) Unlock Trigger
5 Wire Harness
Lock Relay
white/black Lock #87a Normally closed
green/black lock #30 common (output)
violet/black lock normally open (input)
Unlock Relay
Brown/Black Unlock #87a Normally closed
Blue/black unlock #30 common (output)
violet/black unlock #87 normally open (input)
Also on my alarms guide says that the lock pulse duration is set to 0.8 seconds and to 1 pulse. I can change this to 2 pulses and also to 0.4 seconds and to any combination of these settings.
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not too sure what the above notes next to the wire colors above
The color codes above are the circuit between the switches and the door locks ( for the non RKE version ).
These need to have power applied to them to get the door lock to cycle. The neutral position of the switch is to ground, so if you tied directly into them, I am shocked you did not blow a fuse ( pulsing power to a circuit tied to ground ).

You need to install a relay that has the normally open and normally closed contacts and break the circuit to ground, and apply power to the lead to get the doors to unlock.
Might want to check at the12volt.com for some relay configurations on the power door locks.

Thanks for the response. Then it was good that I bought the XpressKit 451M relay module. Now I just have to wait for it to get here, and if I have any issues wiring it up I'll post back in this thread.
I need some help wiring the 451m Micro Doorlock Relay Module I just received.
Here is what I think I got so far, but I'm not sure if this is right
unlock and lock commons #30 (output) to ground
unlock and lock normally open (input) to 12V
lock #87a normally closed to pink/yellow
unlock #87a normally closed to pink/green

with terminal 30 to ground, and the normally open to power, when a relay is powered, you would be shorting power to ground ( i.e. blown fuse ).
What you should be looking for is a 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks.
The12volt.com have diagrams on this.

Like the configuration above, the switch, when moved in either direction, applies both power and ground directly to motor legs without the use of any relays. Except, at the switch in this case, both motor legs rest at ground . Therefore it is only necessary to change the polarity of one motor leg to lock or unlock the vehicle.
Thank you. that picture helped me a lot with the installation. Everything works now, except the actuator on my driver's side door which stopped working (stupid $3 actuator). So, yeah after getting a new one in everything should be fine.
