Check charging system
If I"m below 2000 rpms the check charging system comes on, if I'm above 2000 it goes off. Just started happening and I was thinking it must be the alternator any other ideas? Oh yeah 05 ford f150 5.4

Give the alternator a sharp tap when it is running and the light is on. If the light goes off then it is probably brushes in the alternator. The alternators are not very good, mine only lasted about 184,000 miles. (JK) also go and have your battery load tested.
