auto light stays on

I have a 2000 f150 larit. I bought it about 3 months ago and have not had any problem until now. With the truck off and no key in it with lights set at auto, they stay on . I turn **** to off and the light go off but, by morming the battery is dead. Some times in the auto pos. the light work fine and then out of nowhere there on again. The battery is new(thought that might be it as the alt is also.
Then after trying to start the truck several times and the battery wasnt fully charge and just clicked the ac,radio and windows stopped working but work for a few seconds to have time to get the window back. The crusie control and horn have not worked since I purchased the truck but if there are any ideas on this fix I would like to hear them. any help would be nice. I am thinking of a big fire right now and i know that after the fire goes out I still wont have anything to drive so please help me.
I have checked the fuse and replaced as needed. I dont know how to test the relays. I also dont have an owners manual to see what fuse work what. Is theree an online manual or something I can get to help me

well after reading as much as I could and understand what it meant ,I replaced the cjb. Still have a short some where. Durning this I did realize that the alt was hot and the motor has not been started. I assume there is some sort of short to the alt but where should I start to look.
Also is it posible that the ground on the door sill that I have read about cause this. I checked that area but didnt see anything .
and the ac,windows and radio was a fuse that i missed. They are working now

If the alt is causing the drain, only fix is to replace alt. A bad diode will cause this.

Go to www.ford.com, there is an owner's section where you can download manuals.

Ok ,i replaced the light cluster and now the short is gone. I am going to reprogram and test for awhile.
I did notice I have the asb light on now. what do you think causes that. I am really no electrical type repair person. I can only unplug and replug stuff and dont really know what that stuff is till I take it to a parts store. This is really costly. I'm sure my problem I did have was a fuse or relay, and I'm just not able to figure out how to test.
can someone help me figure this asb problem out. I have to leave town tonight so i wont check back till momday but I should be here all day so any help or suggestion would be nice.
also my check engine light is off right now but it was on before this short thing started and I just hadnt fixed yet. so It will probllay still be there after I drive for awhile. no codes show up but maybe I just dont know what to look for when I start the truck.
This is my first ford and I really like it alot and am sure it is a great truck but I really need some help figuring this out.
