Reverse Lights not working.
Reverse Lights not working.
About 4 months ago a vehicle struck vehicle from behind going only around 10-15 mph. They ran into my trailer hitch which stopped them from damaging my bumper.
But ever since this incident, when I shift into reverse, the reverse lights AND backup sensors on the bumper don't work at all.
I've checked the fuse; It's good.
I've taken the tail lamp body out and checked the harness connections to the reverse light. It's connected.
I'm basically lost. I get so annoyed when backing up at night and seeing nothing but darkness.
Anyways, is there anything else I can check to see if a connection is loose?
Or is there anything else that could've gotten damaged in the incident?

did you try checking the bulb socket for power, with a meter, when in reverse ( i.e. are the bulbs good ) ?
What fuse did you check with a meter or test light ( should be Fuse #14 ).
There are quite a few things that could have been damaged in the accident.
Considering both the Park aid and the reverse lamps do not work, I would suspect either a ground or power to the reverse system, which includes the DTR ( Digital Transmission Range ) Sensor. This could have been knocked out of wack, but checking the fuse with a meter, and checking for power at the bulb connector will indicate if you need to go looking there.

I've also checked both bulbs and they are fine.
Where is the DTR sensor? And where is the ground for the reverse system?
I have a flow through console, so should I check to make sure the connection to the shifter is good?
Go buy a cheap meter or test light, else all of this is just supposition instead of diagnosing. Looking is not testing.
You already have 2 assumptions, and want to move on to the next step ( which without a meter or test light is also going to be an assumption ).

Place the truck on a level area, chock the wheels, parking brake, etc ( normal safety ).
Turn the key from off to run ( do not start ) place in reverse.
Check for power ( after confirming power on both sides of the fuse to a known ground ) at the input and output of the DTR for the reverse section.

The easy check is to start with the cab fuse panel, remove the trailer tow reversing relay, and check for power on the coil, terminal #2.
