Question O.E.M. Security System Upgrade

Hello to all:

Does anyone know where I can purchase the O.E.M. security system upgrade? I believe it is manufactured by Code Alarm. If possible, I would prefer to order it online.

I have tried several of the Ford online places (Summit, parts.com, my local Ford Dealer) and none of these have been able to find the System Upgrade for me.

I am planning to install it myself.

Thanks in advance.

Mine is made by DEI, (www.dei.com) it is an Auto Mate, model 415
it added a shock sensor, (hopefully a fuel cutoff) and a six tone 160 decibel siren. Cost installed was around $150.00

AND WELL WORTH the money. It took over two hours, and this kid does it daily. Had to run seperate wires to catch the passenger side door locks, don't ask me why???

Thanks for the reply. However, I'm looking for the System upgrade that is supposed to be available as a Ford Product original equipment enhancement. Supposedly all wiring and connectors are in place.

Have you tried calling a dealer? They should be able to give you the brand and part number... just don't tell them you want to find it someplace else.

Incidentally, some members of this board have had trouble with the OE Ford ones... try a search on the board for "alarm trouble" or some variation of it.

wilywilky,

The Ford System 4 upgrade is available from Ford dealers; but it does not utilize existing connectors. You will still have to tap (solder and tape) into the existing wiring to hook it up. The Ford part is manufactured by CodeAlarm. You could also go with the DEI version available as the AutoMate 415 and the Hornet 700T. They are identical. I just installed the 700T in my Lightning with relatively little pain.
