2010 F150 Trailer Lights Problem
2010 F150 Trailer Lights Problem
I have a 2010 Supercrew F150. 5.4L, factory towing package. I bought this used from a Ford Dealer with 7k miles about 2 months ago.
While towing a small trailer last week, I noticed the parking/running lamps weren't working. I checked for a loose plug, no dice. I checked the trailer lamps on another truck and they were fine. I even checked my truck on another trailer with the same results.
While checking fuses, I see what looks like fuse under the hood @ space 31 (trailer tow park lamp relay 20A) and it's fine. I see another fuse or Hi Power relay supposed to be in space 6 (trailer tow park lamp relay). It is missing. I am thinking this is the issue and am just looking for a conformation.
Does your 2010 have fuse or relay #6 under the hood in place? This is a $26 relay and just wanted some assurance before I buy it or complain to the dealer about it missing. Thanks for checking, Jason

Slot #6 ( shown on page 326 of your owners manual ) is for a 1/2 size ISO relay that controls the parking lamps on the trailer.
Don't know if you need it straight away, but the trailer tow adapter battery charge circuit relay is also a 1/2 ISO relay in position #9, as well as the upfitter ( if equip'd ) switches 1&2 use 1/2 size ISO relays.
Any of these can be used for testing.
