Odometer intermittent now won't start
Odometer intermittent now won't start
Help!!! 2003 F150 5.4. I had the intermittent problem with the odometer light going out. The truck ran beautiful I just wanted my odometer! I decided that this weekend I would fix it. I did the Greg Upton solder repair to the circuit board on the dash and reinstalled. I hope my solder iron wasn't too hot. Before I put everything back I figured I would do a test to see if the odometer would come back. NO! It's just dashes like this -------. The Theft light blinks constantly and cranks no start. Crap, it's a problem with the PATS. I did a search and got check fuses, relays, the other key. No problems with the relays swapped them out with the others. Fuses all are good. The other key won't start it either. Took negative cable off and let it set overnight. I am wondering if I messed up the circuit board on the dash that it messed up the PCM. I haven't had the codes read because I don't have a code reader. I might spring for one now. Questions: Would the circuit board on the dash be messed up that it is messing up the PCM? WHere is the PCM located? Also, what is the definition of the GEM? Thanks. HELP

Nobody has had this problem??!! That is surprising. I did the odometer test where I held the Trip button down while turning on the ignition and got 3 DTC codes. The first code was 9681 – PATS Transceiver Signal is Not Received (Not Connected, Damaged, or Wiring)
The second was 5284 - Oil Pressure Switch Failure. (I suspect there was a failure because the vehicle wasn't running it was just the key was in the On position.)
The third was D262 - Missing SCP message.
Does this help someone understand my problems??!! I'm leaving for a small trip on Wednesday. I would like to get this thing nailed down before I go. It's a good thing that I won't be taking this truck on my trip. Could the Transceiver go bad or PCM? Thanks.
